A little warning to those that have switched over to the KDE:Unstable:SC repo. The target is that either tonight or tomorrow a new Trunk snapshot will be loaded in this repo. That would mean that the Unstable becomes unstable again
I have already been building a number of snapshots based on the opened KDE 4.7 trunk and have to admit that things are still looking very stable and even kdebindings is compiling well
But this might of course change from the moment that KDE 4.6 has been released and the focus shifts to the newer 4.7 release.
I will keep you posted on the developments around this repository, but this would be the moment to switch over to KDE:Distro:Factory if you want to get the RC1, RC2 and KDE 4.6 final version for your openSUSE system. Currently it contains RC1, but this would change in the next few days once RC2 is released.

Any chance of having Kontact2 available in those and/or some additional repo even though it won’t be officially released together with SC 4.6.0?
I guess you are talking here about the KDEPIM 4.6, which will not be released together with KDE 4.6 SC.
We have already created a special repo KDE:Unstable:SC:kdepim46 that contains weekly snapshots of the akonadi-runtime, kdepimlibs, kdepim and kdepim-runtime packages. They are build against the KDE:Distro:Factory repo and are build for 11.2, 11.3 and Factory.
I am updating those packages at least once a week to stay current for those that wants to try out the KDEPIM 4.6 packages.
Yes, that’s what I meant. And now that you mention it, I seem to recall seeing that repo being mentioned before. But for some reason I thought it was meant to be used only with the unstable rather than factory, or at least that it was preferable to do so.
Anyway, thanks for the information. Now I can switch back to factory again (consider me a chicken but I’m not quite ready to make the leap to trunk just yet…)
I cannot find KDE:Unstable:SC:kdepim46 repo on opensuse site. Is it available for use yet?
You can use the following link :
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/Unstable:/SC:/kdepim46/
This repo has been up and running already since RC1. Of course the above link has to be extended with the correct distro version of openSUSE, but you can easily check that by visiting that link.
Thanks! I am looking forward to testing IMAP server functionality which, so far, has not worked satisfactorily in 4.6. Right now, I have downgraded Kmail to 1.13.x to make it work at my office.
Are you sure they are built against the Factory repo? Because to me it seems they are built against the trunk. I am getting a lot of unresolved dependencies.
Hi Jirik,
This kdepim46 repo is build against the KDE:Distro:Factory repository. However in preparation of the KDE 4.6 release, this KDE:Distro:Factory already have the 4.6 packages which are not published yet as that KDE 4.6 is not released yet. This is causing the unresolved dependencies. However the KDE 4.6 should happen within the next few days and then the unresolved dependencies will be gone.
Ok, thanks.
